Privacy Policy - Gatehold

Last updated: November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Gatehold game ("the Game"), published by Nimbic, handles information. It applies to the mobile and PC versions.

No account needed

You can play Gatehold without an account, and the Game never asks for your name, email address or any other personal information. Signing in is optional (see "Signing in" below).

Your progress

Your progress (unlocks, levels, runs in progress, settings) is saved on your device. To keep it safe if you change or lose your device, the Game also keeps a copy of your saved progress with Unity Gaming Services (Cloud Save), a service provided by Unity Technologies. This copy is linked to a random player ID created by the Game and, only if you choose to sign in, to your Unity account. It contains only game progress.

Signing in (optional)

In Settings ▸ Sync progress you can sign in with a Unity account (Unity Player Accounts) to play with the same progress on several devices, for example your phone and your PC. You sign in on Unity's own page, with Google, Apple or an email address. Unity handles the sign-in: the Game receives only an identifier for your Unity account, which it links to your player ID. It does not receive your email address, your password or your Google or Apple account details. You can sign out at any time in the same place; your progress then stays on that device.

Anonymous play data (only if you agree)

The first time you open the Game, it asks whether you want to share anonymous play data. If you agree, the Game sends Unity Analytics (Unity Gaming Services) information about your runs, such as the champion, companions and region you chose, how far a run went and whether it was won, together with basic technical data (device model, operating system, game version, country derived from the connection). We use it only to balance and improve the Game. If you decline, no play data is sent. You can change your choice at any time in Settings ▸ Share play data.

Crash reports

If the Game crashes or hits an error, a technical report (the error, the game version, device model and operating system) may be sent to Unity Cloud Diagnostics so the problem can be fixed. Crash reports contain no personal information.

Unity

Cloud Save, sign-in, Analytics and crash reports are provided by Unity Technologies, which processes this data on our behalf under its own Privacy Policy.

Advertising

On mobile, the Game may offer optional rewarded video ads, served by Google AdMob: you choose to watch one, for example to revive or to reroll a card reward. The PC version shows no ads. To deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google and its advertising partners may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (from which a rough location such as the country can be estimated), how you interact with the ads and technical data about your device, as described in Google's own policies. Where required by law (for users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), the Game asks for your consent before any personalized advertising is shown, through an in-app consent prompt, and you can change your choice later from the Game's settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

You can learn more about how Google uses this data here: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Purchases

On mobile, the Game may offer a one-time in-app purchase (the Supporter pack), which also removes the ads. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play under its own terms: we never see your payment details. The Game only receives a confirmation of the purchase from Google Play so that it can unlock what you bought and restore it later.

Device permissions

The Game uses network access for Cloud Save, Analytics (if you agree), crash reports and, on mobile, ads. It does not request access to your location, camera, contacts, microphone or files.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the Game deletes the progress saved on your device. To have the cloud copy of your progress, the link to your Unity account and any play data deleted, contact us at the address below and include the player ID shown in the Game's Settings.

Children

The Game is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the Game changes. Continued use of the Game after a change means you accept the updated policy.
